1.000.000.000.000.000.000

1,000,000,000,000 computing operations per second is an exaflop.

The Jülich Super Computing Centre (JSC) of Forschungszentrum Jülich will construct a building capable of housing a computer capable of this enormous computing power.

Funded by the European supercomputing initiative EuroHPC, the Federal Republic of Germany and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, it will be the first computer of this power class to be installed in Europe, enabling European researchers to calculate high-resolution climate models, design new materials, simulate complex cellular processes and energy systems, drive basic research and train the latest generation of computationally intensive machine learning algorithms, among other things. TTSP HWP will support the Jülich Research Center and, as general planner of the building, contribute to the expansion of cutting-edge technology in NRW.
